Daehwa Kim

I am a 2nd-year PhD student at HCI Institute in Carnegie Mellon University. Here, I am having a nice journey to explore new human pose tracking technologies with Professor Chris Harrison in the Future Interfaces Group. I completed my Masters at KAIST HCIL, where I had a great opportunity to work with Professor Geehyuk Lee. My recent research explores the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Sensing, and Machine Learning, particularly on transforming antenna systems into advanced interface technologies. I enhance wireless sensing capabilities to improve machine perception, focusing on tracking of the human body, hand, and mouth poses as new input paradigms of spatial computing. I intern at Meta Reality Labs (2023) and Apple ML Research (2024). I presented papers at ACM CHI , UIST, and ISS, and have received two Best Paper Honorable Mention awards at CHI.

Updates
